The Next Level - Automotive Mod Shop Technician

Even in today's economy, the performance market continues to experience phenomenal growth in all segments. This growth is especially strong in the Restomod segment, creating growth in work being performed by Mod Shops. These Mod Shops have immediate openings for well trained technicians with a strong background in high performance.

Graduates of the Automotive Technician Certified Program may qualify for the Performance Academy and train to become an Automotive Mod Shop Technician. This two semester program includes a class project of at least one "Mod Car". The Performance Academy is covered in 12 weeks during the summer session. Successful completion of training earns the student an Automotive High Performance Technician Certificate.

The Fabrication Courses are taught during the 1st semester of the 2nd year. A highlight of the Mod Shop Program is the modifying at least one performance car as a class project. The completed car will be street and/or race certified. After successfully completing all courses, the student earns the opportunity to become "street" ready. This is accomplished by participating in the Cooperative Education Internship at an approved Mod Shop.
